
Codes Of Conduct
PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT
We pledge to follow the SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct:

I will remember that youth sports are played for fun!

I will be a role model for my team, demonstrating how to treat other players, parents, officials and coaches with respect at all times.

I will demonstrate good sportsmanship regardless of the score by acting in a positive manner towards all players, officials, parents and coaches.

I will show respect to all referees and officials and never act in a manner that would be disrespectful toward them.

I will be an encouragement to all players on all teams regardless of the score. I will place my child’s emotional and physical well being ahead of my own personal desire to win.

I will volunteer to help my child’s team by coaching, officiating, planning team parties, team pictures, and/or other needs.

I will not use drugs, tobacco or alcohol at any SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY trainings or games and will remind other parents not to do so.

I will remember that the game is played for the youth and not for the adults.

I will encourage my athlete to shake hands with the other team at the conclusion of all games.

I will encourage my athlete to shake hands with the officials at the conclusion of all games.
I understand that I, and possibly my athlete will be suspended without warning from the league for any violation of this Parent’s Code of Conduct.
COACH & STAFF CODE OF CONDUCT
We pledge to follow the SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY Coach & Staff Code of Conduct:
With regard to my athletes:
I believe that my role as a coach is to contribute to the overall success, physical, and athletic growth of the athlete through participation in SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY.

I will endeavor to be a good instructor and a positive role model for my athletes.

I believe that the score of a game comes second to the safety and welfare of all my athletes.

I will endeavor to put winning in its proper perspective.

I am responsible for understanding and competing within the letter and the spirit of the Law of the game and will teach my athletes to do the same.

I will not deliberately incite unsportsmanlike conduct.

I will not permit an ineligible athlete to participate in a game or League event.
With regard to opposing teams:
I believe that the way my team conducts itself can also have an influence, for better or worse, on those we play against.

I will endeavor to make my team a positive role model.
-
I will not coach, nor allow my athletes to play, with intent to cause injury to opposing athletes.

Neither I nor my athletes and spectators will display hostile behavior towards opposing athletes.

I will emphasize winning without boasting and losing without bitterness.

I will not enforce the “pile it on” method, by playing the best athletes the majority of time in order to get a commanding lead. Coaches shall make every effort to let all the athletes play as much as possible.
With regard to Referees:

I believe that Referees, just as coaches and athletes, are attempting to do their best.

I will instill in my athletes and spectators a respect for that fact.

I understand that my attitude can influence my athletes and spectators.

I will display a controlled and undemonstrative attitude toward Referees at all times.

Neither I nor my athletes and spectators will address a Referee before, during, or after the game in a demeaning fashion.
With regard to SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY (“the league”):
Coaches and Staff are to uphold all the rules, codes and regulations set forth by the league. Any infraction of the codes or other rules will result in a guideline of disciplinary action as listed below in the Discipline Guidelines list.

I will not smoke and/or use smokeless tobacco on game or practice fields or within the sight of any participants

I will abstain from possession of alcoholic beverages and or use of any illegal substance at practices and/or games.

I will not attempt to be verbally abusive, intimidating or threatening to others, flagrantly rude with officials, board members, other coaches, members/guests or volunteers.

I will not physically assault anyone at all. The term physical assault includes, but it is not limited to hitting, slapping, pushing, spitting, kicking or striking in any way with any part of the body or any physical implement.

I will be jointly responsible for the conduct and control of team fans and spectators, along with team officials.

All coaches and staff must promote and support all STUSA functions, fundraisers, and events.
I have read and accept all of the statements written above and agree to abide by them, understanding that they are my code of conduct for my position as a SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY coach or staff member. If I fail to do so, I may be subject to certain penalties as set by SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY at any time.
I acknowledge that the coaches in SAN TAN UNITED SPORTS ACADEMY are held in the highest regard, and the utmost character, integrity, and professionalism is expected of me as a coach/staff member.
